My rates vary based on number of speakers, difficulty, need for time stamps, etc. but typically fall between $.75-1.25 per audio minute. I strive to have jobs under 2 hours long completed within a 48 hour turn around period.

 

​I typically edit for readability, omitting any unnecessary Ums, Ahs, and false starts, so please take this into consideration when deciding upon Verbatim or Non-Verbatim file requests.

 

I agree to maintain full confidentiality with regard to any and all recordings and documentations received from you related to your research study. Furthermore, I agree to hold in strictest confidence the identification of any individual or agency/organization that may be inadvertently revealed during the transcription of the interviews, or in any associated documents. I will not make copies of any recordings of the interviews unless specifically requested to do. I will also delete all recordings used for transcription purposes as soon as your project is done.

 

I do keep all completed transcriptions on my external hard drive for 3 months. Should anything happen to your files during that time you can contact me and I will gladly resend them to you. Should you wish me to not keep your files please let me know and I will delete them promptly once I receive confirmation that you have received them in functioning files.

 

Clients should contact me prior to sending me files for estimates on turn around times based on my current project queue. Please do not send files without first consulting me, as I will not be able to guarantee the usual turn around time.

Rates

 

• 1 speaker dictation .75 cents/per audio minute.

• 2 or 3 speakers, with minimal background noise .80 cents/audio minute.

• Groups with 4 or more speakers, .90 cents/audio minute.

• Speakers with heavy accents, add 15 cents/audio minute.

• Time stamps at regular intervals (2 min, 5 min, 10 min), add 20 cents/audio minute.

• Verbatim files will be a flat rate of $1.25/audio minute and should the audio quality be poor there will be an increase of 5 to 15 cents per minute.

 

Payment Options

 

Payment for half of your project is required before hand. I will provide an invoice for your total and will begin work on your files once payment is received. When I have completed your transcript, I will send it to your promptly via email.
